ABORVAC -S Cow Vaccine is prepared from B.abortus S 19 strain, attenuated, live and freeze-dried vaccine. Aborvac-S Cow Vaccine contains 1-3 x109 of live B.abortus SI 9 bacteria per dose and as stabilizer in each vaccine bottle 6,25 mg Enzymatic Digest of casein (casiton), 12,5 mg sucrose and 2,5 mg sodium glutamate.

Indication and Contraindications:

ABORVAC-S Cow Vaccine is used for active immunization of older than 6 months of age adult cattle against brucellosis.

The vaccine should not be used for pregnant animals and male cattle or bull. Administration and Dosage:

  • Diluted vaccine with sterile diluent of 1 ml is injected by subcutaneous injection to the right the neck.
  • ABORVAC-S Cow Vaccine is applied to healthy female cattle and non-pregnant cattle.
  • If the vaccine is reapplied to after born vaccinated animals without pregnancy, the vaccine provides much better protection.
  • The vaccinated animals are marked with permanent marker.
  • For each animal, different needle is used.
  • After vaccination of animals, 2 days are recommended to keep in a cool environ­ment.
  • Around the injection site a small hard swelling and a slight increase in body temperature are considered a normal reaction to the vaccine.
  • The applicator should observe rules of asepsis and antisepsis and use masks and gloves during vaccination. If necessary; contact places with vaccine are washed with antiseptic.


  • Diluted vaccine must be used within 2 hours.

Side Effects:

On rare occasions, anaphylactic shock may develop within 2 hours of vaccination 2 ml 'of atropine sulfate 1 / 5000 2 times with an interval of 12 hours must be given subcutaneously.

Legal Washout Period

Vaccinated animals should not be slaughtered for a period of 3 months.

Storage Conditions:

The vaccine is stored in dark environment at 2 °C to 8 °C.


The lyophilized vaccine is packed in 2,5,10,20 and 50 fold doses in vials with 2,5,10, 20 and 50 of diluent.

Destruction Conditions:

The vaccine is autoclaved without open the contents at 121 °C for 30 minutes and discard to cesspool. If destruction will contaminate the environment; half and empty vials are boiled for 5 minutes in water and then buried to soil.
