Freeze-dried Live-attenuated Viral Dog Vaccine

      Canine Parvovirus Enteritis, Distemper & Infectious Respiratory Diseases (CAV-2, CPiV)   

Composition:

Each dose of vaccine contains at least:

106.0 TCID50 of Canine parvovirus type 2 (CPV)

104.0 TCID50 of Canine distemper virus (CDV)

104.0 TCID50 of Canine adenovirus type 2 (CAV-2)

104.0 TCID50 of Canine parainfluenza virus (CPiV)

Indications:

Canine parvovirus infections, distemper, hepatitis, laryngotracheitis and tracheobronchitis are diseases that can affect dogs at any age, and may even cause death. The animals are protected during the first few weeks of life by maternal antibodies. As these declines in the following weeks, the animals again become susceptible to infection. Systematic vaccination of puppies and adults produces a level of antibodies against these diseases, which is high enough to ensure protection of the animals.

CanineVac-4 is used for prevention of Canine parvovirus infections in dogs with dehydration, severe hemorrhagic diarrhea, vomiting, myocarditis and high fever; Also, prevention of clinical signs and death caused by canine distemper virus, Canine adenovirus type 2 and Canine parainfluenza virus. The vaccine Stimulates antibody production in the presence of existing maternal antibodies.

Contraindications

The vaccine applied only on healthy and non-parasitized dogs. Do not vaccinate pregnant bitches.

Dosage and Administration

  • Rehydrate freeze-dried vial aseptically. For this purpose, some of the diluent is taken and injected into lyophilized vaccine vial and rotating or inverting to dissolve the lyophilized powder thoroughly, without producing foam. Then taken with sterile syringe and injected to remain diluent. This process needs to be repeated few times until the freeze-dried virus are completely restored to liquid form.
  • Each dose of vaccine is 1 ml that is applied subcutaneously (S.C) route.
  • Primary vaccination: 8-9 weeks of age.
  • Booster/Rapple: 3-4 weeks after primary vaccination.
  • Third Vaccination: 16-17 weeks of age.
  • Revaccination: Annual revaccination (yearly) with a single dose is recommended.

Precautions:

  • Sterilized syringes and needles should be used for administration of the vaccine.
  • Opened vial of vaccine should be used at the same day.
  • The vaccinator should observe the rules of asepsis and antisepsis.
  • In case of accidental self-injection, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label to the physician.

Side Effects:

In rare cases, if anaphylaxis or hypersensitivity occurs following use, administer adrenaline or equivalent.

Shelf life:

2 years after production date under recommended storage conditions.

Storage Conditions:

 

  • Do not freeze.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Presentation:

The vaccine packed in vials of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 doses with diluent.

Destruction Conditions

The vaccine is autoclaved without open the contents at 121°C for 30 min. and discarded to cesspool. If destruction will make in environment conditions; half and empty vials are boiled in water for 5 min. and then buried to soil.
