Requivac IMS Autovaxine, 8. It is applied 3 times in the 9th and 10th months. The purpose of vaccination is to provide the foals with passive immunity to the colostrum. The application of the last (third dose) vaccination 3-4 weeks before birth allows higher levels of preservatives to accumulate in the colostrum.
Pregnant was tested at 300 mares. Contraindications have not been reported.
RequiVac IMS Autovaxine is made from the neck (1/3 of the neck) by an IM (intramuscular) route. One dose is 2.0 ml.
The vaccine must be mixed thoroughly by overturning before it is drawn into the injector. Before vaccination, the injection site should be wiped with alcohol and a sterile new needle should be used in each mare.
No side effects were observed. In case of possible anaphylaxis that can develop within 2 hours following vaccination, mares should be taken to the open air and applied atropine sulfate (2 times 12 hours apart from 1/5000 atropine sulfate solution).
Since it is an inactive vaccine, it does not require destruction.
